Daisy & Eddie

Daisy & Eddie

Pet portraits aren’t the mainstay of the studio, but I LOVE doing them!  This was the second time I photographed Daisy, but now she has a little brother!  Eddie is a ball of energy and I am so proud of the images we got where he looks so calm and still!  I think I managed to capture both their personalities!

Too often we stop taking family portraits once our kids become tweens.  There is always a reason not to, but we overlook the reasons we should!  These years are just as important as when these children were toddlers.  They will one day want to remember this time with you and showing these impressionable brains that THEY are the most beautiful art you could ever hang on your walls has such impact!

A family portrait session was even more important for this blended family who don’t always live together.  Though their visits together may be brief, their love and connection isn’t!  I am so glad I was able to capture these before their busy lives scattered them across the country again!

Mia

Mia

Baby Mia is so happy!  She is such a doll I just love playing with her!  She has the best wardrobe, so I got to do lots of fun things with this sweet girl for her three month session!

Happy Birthday Mary!

Happy Birthday Mary!

I can’t begin to count how many one year old birthday portrait sessions I have done or how many kids have done smash cakes in the studio.  But why do we stop with this after the first birthday?  Are other birthdays less important?  For Mary, her 60th birthday was pretty important to her and she wanted to celebrate!  Well, I would say reaching 60 is a bigger accomplishment than reaching one, so lets party!  I loved Mary’s fun spirit and I am so so happy she shared her birthday in the studio with us!mm2 (more…)

The Patel Family

The Patel Family

Four kids and two adults, all in perfectly coordinated outfits, with bright happy faces and styled hair… now do it TWICE!  For the Patel family, it threatened to rain all day for their family session but since scheduling was so tight with both our calendars, we kept our fingers crossed but at the last minute the clouds burst open and we had no choice but to reschedule.  Mom had to get everyone ready all over again for the new date, but the silver lining was that we caught the trees when their leaves perfectly coordinated with the outfits!  Winning!patel3 (more…)

Rodney

Rodney

Photographing artists is always such a pleasure.  Photographing anyone who has stage presence and is comfortable in front of the camera just makes my job a piece of cake!  Rodney is an amazing bassist and really got lost in his music throughout the session, making the images so natural and real to who he is as an artist.
